Alex Starts Her Visit

Since Spring Break is in session our niece Alex came over to spend a few nights with us & Haley. We took both girls to Wonderland for a little bit. Haley was fascinated with all the bright lights and sounds. Her little legs were kicking a mile a minute. She loved seeing all the crazy people and flashing games! After the excitement of Wonderland we all went home and Haley took a nap. We spent the rest of our day hanging out at home. Alex had a great time with Haley! Roy & I were going to run to pick up Twilight from Redbox for her and we asked her if she wanted to either come with us, stay home alone or stay home and watch Haley, she got SUPER excited and wanted to DEFINITLY stay home and watch Haley. We left them playing on the floor and when we got back they were both still happy as clams!

Central Library & Out to Dinner

Today we went to the downtown library to check out some more books. The selection is amazing anf the librarians are super nice and had great suggestions. Of course, Tank had to come with us! After we checked out some books we went home to read stories and have lunch. After a nice relaxing afternoon we went and met Grandma Karry and Papa at Red Lobster. Man we have been getting to eat out a lot lately! :) Having cute baby has its benefits!

Sushi & Zerberts

Haley had another fun day filled with friends and family. We had a nice morning visit with Grandpa. Haley sat with Grandpa and visited for a little while while Grandma Egbert was at an appointment. Haley has discovered the ancient of making zerbert noises with her mouth. It has been a constant source of amusement for her!

It is really cute but we are ALL covered in drool! After we visited with Grandpa we went and met Kristine and her one year old daughter Makenna for sushi- yay sushi! Makenna got to try her first piece of sushi and liked the egg one - not so much the tuna one :)
Makenna is fascinated with Haley. When she realized that we intended to have Kristine sit between her and Haley she freaked out and squealed at us until we put her highchair next to Haley! So funny! The girls were so sweet sitting next to each other. Makenna would pet Haley on the head and was really gentle. Don't be fooled here though - Makenna was not feeding Haley she was taking the cracker out of Haley's mouth so she could eat it! Ha!After lunch it was back to our house for a playdate with Chloe & her 11 month old baby sister Annabelle. Chloe is so sweet with Haley. She always wants to hold her or sit next to her.Annie always gets very excited to see Haley. Somethimes TOO excited and forgets to be gentle. We have to keep a close eye on them but they both get very excited when they are together!
Annie always grunt and hollers when she sees Haley and Haley always starts kicking her legs! After our busy day of friends we ended it with a little dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Egbert. Haley was so tired from her exciting day that she fell asleep while Grandma was feeding her right after dinner. It is tough work to be loved by so many people!

Dinner with the Grandparents

After such a busy day yesterday we thought we would try to relax at least a little today! Haley spent most of the morning playing with Mom & Dad.
After some floor time with Mom & Dad and a little tummy time, Haley was ready to go visit Grandma Egbert. Haley hung out with Grandma while Mom & Dad took a much needed nap -both exhausted from the cold they both caught AGAIN! After Grandma Egbert's it was time to go with Mom to pick Grandma Karry up! After a few quick errands we were headed home with Grandma to cook some dinner - Taco Salad - yum! Grandma Egbert (Grandpa Roy was sleeping) & Grandpa PM came over to eat dinner with us! We had a great time visiting - however it was hard to convince BOTH Grandma's that they were the one that got to see Haley the most - I guess the gig is up! But, since Grandma Egbert does not read this blog I will ADAMANTLY insist that Grandma Karry has seen her most ;)It is so much fun for Haley to spend time with her family! She loves her Grandparent's so much and gets SO excited and smiley when she sees them! She had fun playing on the floor with Grandma Karry!Of course Tank had to be right up in the action too!

She discovered how much fun it is to grab people's noses today!

Haley's 1st St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Haley had a very busy St. Patrick's Day! Her morning started with a visit from the early interventionist. She worked with Haley for nearly an hour! She was so impressed with how well Haley was doing and how tolerant she has become with being on her belly. The early interventionist worked with Roy & I, teaching us different positions to work with Haley in to help Haley strengthen and train the muscles she will need to meet her next developmental milestones.
The early interventionist used a stuff monkey to help Roy learn each position. After Early Intervention was over it was time to meet Grandma Karry for lunch! We picked her up and had lunch at Buffalo Gap - yum! Haley had fun being loved by her Grammy!
After lunch and visiting with Grandma it was time to get dressed up to meet Uncle RJ at his house for some dinner and a little Uncle Monkey Swinging! But first we needed to stop by Grandma Egberts so she could see sweet Haley in her St. Patty's Day dress! What a pretty girl all dressed up to see Uncle!
Haley played in her bumbo and intently watched everything Henry was doing!
By the end of the evening (and after a very lovely poop explosion) she was no longer in her pretty green dress - as they say poop happens!

All in all it was a great St. Patty's day filled with lots of people who love Miss Haley! Who could ask for anything more?

Teething Biscuits & Jumperoo's!

Haley has been growing by leaps and bounds. She had her first self-feeding experience today with a toaster biscuit. She got so excited while she was eating - cooing and kicking her legs!
By the end she was covered in bread goo but she sure was one happy baby! I also tried to feed her some peas but she shut her mouth and refused to open it again after the third bite! I think she must have been talking with her Uncle Rich about how nasty peas are! Oh well, we will try again another day!

Besides food, Haleys other current passion is her jumperoo! She goes crazy jumping up and down& squealing. It is SO helpful to have a fun activity for Haley while I get dishes done! Lifesaver!

Sorry for being lame...

So I am sorry for being lame and I will try to be much better about keeping this thinkg updated but things have been a little hectic lately! We became the official foster parents for Haley on January 27th. It was so exciting but so crazy too! We only found out a little more than a week before that we would actually be getting her so we did not have very much time to get everything ready. But, we a lot of help from friends, we were able to get her room set up and were pretty well prepared the day we got her! Haley has been doing really great in our house. She has become such a happy & sweet baby!
She loves Tank so much! He is such a good boy he just sits there next her letting her pull his fur being so patient as we try to teach her to pet not pull! He also loves to come any lay by her when she is playing on the floor. He often will go get one of his toys and lay next to her. He does not want the cats to get anywhere near her! I think it is half protection and half jealousy :) She is so fascinated by everything in the world. She is always looking around and taking everything in. She loves watching Tank and his "cousin" Henry play and gets fixated on ceiling fans and overhead lights. Her doctor and early interventionist say she is doing REALLY well. She has caught up on her developmental milestones and just seems to be learning more and more each day! She started eating solids a few weeks ago and has really been enjoying eating! She gets really excited and kicks her legs and opens & closes her hands whenever we feed her. The only food she has not liked so far is squash - can you blame her? She has been having such a great time visiting with friends & family! She is such a lucky girl to have so many people who love her!
